MYTHERAPY: HIGH SPEED PHANTOM TRANSCODE FOR BT SPORT ADVERT

Mytherapy has worked with Stink to provided onset high-speed Phantom transcodes for the BT Sport’s first advert ‘Great Sport Happens Here’.

The raw material was transcoded to two formats and delivered faster than real time. To the rushes, Mytherapy also applied a look to match the colours of the footage shot on Arri Alexa, which enabled production to get instant access to the material and start editing onset.

DADO VALENTIC CONDUCTS REDUCATION WORKSHOP IN NEW YORK

Our Chief Therapist, Dado Valentic, was invited by RED to conduct a special two-day workshop during the New York REDucation event.

The course took place at Digital Arts facility in New York and Dado showed hands on the grading experience in 4K to the participant, while Mark Pederson from Offhollywood talked about the current state of postproduction.

REDucation is an initiative from RED Digital Cinema, which offers fully immersive, hands-on, and practical training of the RED camera systems for both on set practices and post production practices.

ADVANCE OF 4K – HOW THIS AFFECTS CINEMATOGRAPHY

In case you have missed the fantastic panel ‘Advance of 4K – How this affects Cinematography’ during the BSC Expo 2013, you can now listen to it online. The panel was composed of Arri’s Business Development Manager Milan Krsljanin; cinematographers Ben Smithard, Nic Morris and Phil Meheux; Sony’s Strategic Marketing Manager Peter Sykes; and colourist Thomas Urbye.

The panel discussed whether cinematographers are being driven into 4K by manufacturers seeking to sell more television sets, as they see this is the next “big thing” after the slow-down of 3D, and if cinematographers are ready on set for a full 4K workflow.

MYTHERAPY AT NAB SHOW 2013

 Right now the NAB Show 2013 is in full swing, bringing together thousands of companies and media professionals from around the world.

This year MYTHERAPY was once again represented there. Our Chief Colourist, Dado Valentic has been giving training presentations on advanced postproduction workflows with RED and HP.

Sony has been showing on the prototype of the 4K OLED monitor the short film Dig, graded by Mytherapy, while Adobe was showing Wayland’s Song, also graded by us, as an example of work done on the new version of Speed Grade.

At the Dolby stand, attendees could watch Televisual’s 4K aerial footage of London, graded by Dado.

We are proud to have partnered with some of the leading manufacturers of the industry for the NAB Show 2013 and to confirm once again that we continue to deliver the best quality services and images to the industry.
